Reimagine. Recreate. Restore.
According to a 2021 ThredUp report, 1 in 2 people throw their unwanted clothes straight in the trash. The result? 64% of the 32 billion garments produced each year end up in a landfill. Degrowth, regenerative, and circular practices are needed to address both the environmental and ethical transgressions rooted within the production process of the fashion industry.
That’s where our Zero-Waste Program comes into play. At Anne Mulaire we know the fashion industry can do better. Wasted fashion is simply bad design and it is our goal to keep all clothing out of the landfill.
We fit flat pieces of fabric to your clothing pattern like a jigsaw puzzle and then hand cut our garments to ensure no fabric ever goes to waste.
We save, sort, and re-use our remnants material to create a circular manufacturing process. In doing so we produce creative, one-of-a-kind pieces that are regenerative in nature.
We then donate any leftover pieces from this process to the amazing Bell MTS Volunteers who use them for a multitude of projects. (And you better believe that our plastic scrap bags are made from upcycled fabric roll packaging!)
Living off the principles of Zero-waste is not about the end game. Living Zero-waste is about embracing the process. By crafting and curating conscious designs and offering quality garments, we can aid in the adoption of a better future for everyone. Zero-Waste isn’t just a design principle here at Anne Mulaire, it’s a way of life.
