North West Blazer
Bold, refined, and rooted in Métis heritage. The North West Blazer is crafted in structured Ponte with a tailored, easy-moving silhouette and carries the Spirit of the North print by Métis Elder and artist David Albert along the lapel. This print has been part of our story for 24 years. Created to bring togetherness across First Nations, Inuit, and Métis peoples, it is the only Haida-style print we make and it has earned every conversation it starts.
The name: North West is inspired by North West Is Our Mother — a phrase that speaks to the strength, identity, and resilience of the Métis Nation. It is a history deeply personal to us.
The print: David created Spirit of the North 24 years ago to celebrate unity across FNIM peoples. The Eagle - symbol of Love in the Seven Sacred Teachings, represents the Plains peoples. The Polar Bear - embodiment of ancient northern wisdom, honours the Inuit. Rendered in bold Haida style, it pays homage to David's West Coast Indigenous cousins. We are proud to walk tall with our cousin nations and keep sharing our people's story.
