Ethical & Just-In-Time Manufacturing
Making strides to a circular fashion model means that we work smarter. That’s why in late 2020 we adopted a Just-In-Time manufacturing philosophy. It just made sense.
Ethically Manufactured in Winnipeg, Manitoba
Instead of offshoring manufacturing or outsourcing sewing labor abroad, our entire production process takes place on Canadian soil. We take pride in owning our own 100% vertical sewing and textile manufacturer. By owning our manufacturer, we not only deliver the best products possible to you and your loved ones, but we also help produce jobs that support our local economy.
When you care about people and the environment as much as we do, it is important to become agile and adaptive in nature. A manufacturing-on-demand model allows us to be lean, responsive, and provide better products for you.
We don’t mass produce; we make small batches that are made-to-order. Since we are a 100% vertical company, we are able to offer a high level of customization. We have very little stock, with no large warehouses of unsold clothes that inevitably end up in a landfill.
If a garment is not needed, it doesn’t get made, period. This allows us to reduce storage costs and gain an intimate understanding of our supply chain. This manufacturing philosophy also allows us to build stronger connections with our suppliers and our customers.
By using Just-In-Time Manufacturing, we can assure:
✓ Excellent craftsmanship and attention to detail
✓ Customer engagement in the entire production process
✓ Personal customization & alterations on site
✓ Quality control and fulfillment done in real-time
We champion ethical employment and equal opportunities, for all.
Inclusivity, justice, and honesty are at the center of everything we do. We believe that jobs should empower communities, not hold them down.
That’s why we parnter with Fair Trade Certified factories that provide safe working conditions, living wages, and a pollution-free environment that’s kind to our planet and those we employ.
All of our clothing is made in our Winnipeg manufacture. Each piece is sewn by artisan dressmakers and professional seamstresses who are paid premium wages, with full healthcare and paid vacation.
Our clothing isn’t just made in Canada; it’s shaped by Canada.
While other companies claim to be 100% Canadian-made, we actually mean it.
We make all of our clothing right here in Canada.

We acknowledge with respect and gratitude that our work takes place (and our products are made) on ancestral lands, Treaty 1 territory, traditional territory of the Anishinaabeg, Cree, Oji-Cree, Dakota, and Dene Peoples, and on the homeland of the Métis Nation.
Consciously Milled And Dyed in Ontario
Our knits are completely unique to Anne Mulaire. Because our fabric is completely exclusive to our brand, we feel responsible for its quality and impact on our planet.
Rest assured that our fabrics are milled and knitted in Ontario by a company that adheres strictly to the Oeko Tex Standard which ensures materials are free of hazardous chemicals. The bamboo, organic cotton, hemp, Sorona® and TENCEL™ used in our clothing are grown without pesticides, herbicides, or chemical fertilizers. We’re not only eco-friendly but eco-efficient.
We are Indigenous-owned and Richly Inspired.
Anne Mulaire is located in Treaty 1 territory, the ancestral and traditional homeland of the Anishinaabe peoples. We acknowledge and value that we live and work in the territories of the Anishinaabe, Cree, Dakota, Dene, Metis, and Oji-Cree Nations.
Richly inspired by Anne Mulaire’s Anishinaabe/French Métis héritage, our prints are handcrafted by our Indigenous Métis Elder, David Albert, Andréanne’s father. Read more about his work and the story behind our one-of-a-kind prints.
